Single Saddle Blanket

A Single Saddle Blanket circa 1890’s. 2ft. 8in. wide by 2ft. with the fringe. The red field is all reveled yarns with spider woman crosses of brown and blue 4 ply germantown yarns center in the middle top and bottom. Elongated diamond elements of germantown green, brown, yellow and white are accented with indigo blue. Top salvage cord is a hand spun dyed purple which was common in the 1890’s. The bottom germantown fringe which was probably originally longer makes this a fancy saddle blanket. Some well done restoration. $5000.
